Summary of the Weather for January 2010

This month saw cataclysmic rain storms mid-month. More rain fell in 24 hours on January 18, 17 cm = 6.5 inches, than fell in the past 10 years altogether. The rain continued again on January 19, creating flooding throughout the Negev, washing out roads and severing Route 40 between Mitzpe Ramon and Sede Boker for two days.

The temperature averaged 50 degrees from mid-month through the end of January, with unseasonably warm weather in the mid-60s running January 28-31.

Mitzpe Ramon temperatures from January 18 - January 31
